Dental Insurance Program(s)

UNC Health Care offers employees dental insurance coverage under the North Carolina Flexible Benefits Program (NC Flex). Effective January 1, 2008, the dental plan is administered by United Concordia. The NC Flex Dental Insurance is available to all regular employees who work 20 or more hours per week. Premiums are deducted on a pre-tax basis.

The effective date of this benefit is the 1st day of the month after the date of hire or eligibility change. Enrollment must be completed online.

The NC Flex Dental Insurance offers two different plans: High Option and Low Option. In addition to the two plan options, there are five coverage types: Employee Only, Employee and One Child, Employee Children, Employee Spouse, and Employee Family.
