Policy Development and Review

Process

The Hospital Ethics Committee (HEC) is available to assist with development or review of UNC Health Care policies when specific ethical issues might be involved. When asked to be involved in development or review, a subcommittee of HEC members is appointed to work with those in the administration or others involved in drafting the policies.

Policy

Recommendations are made for modifications or revisions to ensure that policies are sensitive to current professional and patient-related ethical standards.
