The North Carolina Cancer Hospital, part of the University of North
Carolina Health Care System, provides comprehensive care for our
patients and full support for their families. With a high level of
nursing expertise across all areas of the hospital, we care for adult
hematology and oncology patients from admission to discharge, in
outpatient clinics and diagnostic facilities to procedural areas and
inpatient units. North Carolina Cancer Hospital Inpatient UnitsAdult Hematology/ Oncology UnitThis 34-bed unit provides specialized care to patients requiring diagnosis and treatment of solid tumor diseases, hematologic malignancies and benign hematological disorders. Specially trained nurses provide exceptional care including, but not limited to, chemotherapy/biotherapy infusion, transfusion and electrolyte support, and side effect management. Bone Marrow Transplant Unit (BMTU)In this 16-bed unit, we care for adult and pediatric patients
undergoing transplant for hematologic cancers, solid tumors, metabolic
diseases and blood disorders. With the support of the entire Bone
Marrow Transplant team, BMTU nurses provide exceptional care to our
